As we say goodbye to 2015, we must reflect and pay homage to the players in the entertainment industry that made our hearts go aflutter.
Of COURSE they are talented, of COURSE they are smart …and stuff… but they are definitely not hard on the eyes either.
The fine folks here at Armchair Mogul (and friends) took a vote, and we picked the ten celebs that made us watch just a little bit longer this year!
So sit back and feast your eyes on OUR picks, in our Sixth Annual Armchair Hottie Awards: Top Ten of 2015! GET IT ON!
Hmmm, how do we adequately express (in a manner that is safe for work) the woman whose True Detective nude scene pretty much broke the entire internet the next day? Well, let’s try to be classy here…
Daddario (and her piercing eyes) had an eclectic year. In film, she played The Rock’s daughter San Andreas, she did voice work in the video game Battlefield Hardline and guest starred on TV’s Last Man on Earth and American Horror Story.
There are many other attributes that add her to this years ‘Hottie’ list. At least two anyway. We look froward to seeing what she has in store!
Honestly, when she guest starred last year on FOX’s series New Girl, one of the characters said what we are all thinking.
Fun Fact: Daddario will be starring in the upcoming “Baywatch” movie. Booooo for remakes, yay for Alexandra!!
Sexy, funny, talented, charitable, and loving father and husband. What more could you want out of a guy?
When he’s not out making the highest grossing movie in history (Jurassic World, 2015) he is visiting children’s hospitals with his buddy (and ‘Hottie Award’ Alum) Chris Evans. All the guys want to be him and all the girls wanna…
The fact that we watched his transformation from lovable lump Andy Dwyer into sexpot Peter Quill made us all love him and wonder if we should get off the couch and start moving.
And he can take a prank really well too! There is not much to dislike about our boy Crisp Ratt!
Fun Fact: Chris worked at ‘Bubba Gumps Shrimp’ Restaurant in Hawaii when he met actress Rae Dawn Chong, who helped him get his start acting. The rest is history!
Part ‘high born’ Brit, part Lola Bunny from Space Jam, Natalie Dormer (and her trademark smirk) stole the internet’s hearts even further this year as Game of Thrones’ Margaery Tyrell.
That “smirking (*%$*) from Highgarden was present during The Purple Wedding, one of our favorite moments of TV this year, along with starring in the final installment of The Hunger Games franchise.
And we… along with Michael Fassbender just assumed those were pantyhose.
“Well, it’s not.”
Fun Fact: Dromer enjoys fencing as a sport, and is a member of the London Fencing Academy. She is also a mezzo soprano singer!
Justin Theroux’s sulky and whackadoodle character Kevin Garvey on HBO’s The Leftovers put him on the radar this year as one of TV’s hottest actors.
Actress Jennifer Aniston’s radar picked him up loud and clear. The two were married this year!
He starred in numerous off Broadway plays before his feature film career began. Justin’s film career includes work both in front of and behind the camera as writer, director & actor.
Oh yeah, and he looks like this without a shirt on.
Fun Fact: Theroux guest-starred in a number of episodes of ‘Parks and Recreation’ (2009). In an episode, his love interest talks about Jennifer Aniston picking the wrong guys. Ironically, he is now married to Aniston.
Rebecca Ferguson kicked and punched her way into our heart this year in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. She was hand picked by Tom Cruise for the role and was the closest thing to a Bond girl that we have ever seen in the the franchise!
Just don’t point a gun at her back, she doesn’t like that.
Sexy, sultry, Swedish.
Watch her talk about her kick as character, Ilsa Faust, in MI:RN!
Fun Fact: Ferguson did her own stunts in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015). She went under vigorous fitness and stunt training, consisting of 6-weeks of 6 hours-a-day training schedule, including Pilates, fight choreography and stunt practice.
Mike Colter smoldered his way into the Marvel Universe this year as Luke Cage. Superhero, bartender, booty call for Jessica Jones. His smooth voice and demeanor made us all go aflutter.
Colter is now set up to weave in and out of a ton of other Marvel shows, including The Defenders, Daredevil and his own show Luke Cage!
Watch him talk about Luke Cage and the process of the character!
Fun Fact: Colter gained 32 pounds of muscle for the role of Luke Cage!
Almost as if she watch hatched by the internet itself, Daisy Ridley, star of Star Wars: Episode VII is part Keira Knightly, part Emma Watson and 100% classy.
Daisy trained as a dancer and singer at the Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, and grew up not far from her Star Wars costar John Boyega.
The best part is, shes a fan girl like the rest of us. Watch her reaction when she sees the new Star Wars trailer for the first time.
Fun Fact: Ridley’s first role in a major motion picture, Star Wars: Episode VII has made $1 billion dollars in 12 days!
Without question, one of our favorite parts of The Game of Thrones series, Peter Dinklage is one of the coolest and best actors on television today.
We’re just going to pretend that Pixels didn’t happen.
Not only is the man a gigantic stud, Dinklage is a huge supporter of many animal right organizations, such as PETA, Cruelty Free International and Farm Sanctuary.
Check out Dinklage’s Man of the Year video that GQ made a few years back!
Fun Fact: Dinklage is a vegetarian. Anytime you see him eating a meat product on screen, it is a tofu product (such as the tofu “beef” jerky, in The Station Agent (2003)).
Rosario is one of those people that would be on our list every year if we could. Rosario ran the gamut of Superherodom this year, first starting as Wonder Woman in the animated feature The Justice League: Throne of Atlantis…
…then rocking our worlds in the Marvel universe as Claire Temple, popping up in both Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
We love Rosario because she always looks like she is having fun, and she looks amazing doing it. Check out her dance moves in Clerks 2!
Fun Fact: Rosario was discovered sitting on her front porch in New York City and asked if she wanted to be in a movie. That movie was Kids (1995).
Michael B. Jordan
Michael B. had a HUGE year this year starring opposite Stallone in the critically acclaimed Creed.
Variety Magazine, Complex, Entertainment Weekly and Nylon Magazine have all touted him as one of the fastest rising stars.
Jordan’s fun attitude and handsome looks made him a shoo in this year. So much so that we forgive him for being in Fantastic 4.
He told Us Weekly “[Training for Creed] differed from week to week, but some days it would be boxing and weight lifting. Some days it would just be boxing and cardio. I worked out two to three times a day. I ate five to six times a day, every two and a half hours. I drank about a gallon and a half of water every day. Just doing that consistently for about 10 or 11 months, you see a physical change!”
I mean, come on!
Fun Fact: The “B” in Michael B. Joran is for Bakari, is Swahili and means “of noble promise.”
What do you think, Moguls?
Did we nail it?
Are we nuts?
